I Love Pickles

“I Love Pickles” originated as a song that I wrote for my children.  It was one of their favorites throughout the years.  I would typically play it on guitar or banjo and the kids would sing along.  Now, that I put it down on paper, I realize that there are grammatical irregularities throughout the story.  Please know, that I have fretted over whether, I should “fix” the text or leave it in its original “song” state.  After much deliberation, I elected to keep it as is.   Fundamentally, this keeps in line with our mission to create fun books that kids will want to read.

In this case, they can read or sing the book and focus on enjoying the flow and rhythm of the text.  After all we want them to practice reading.  Additionally, this is our first book that utilizes contractions—this is a fun way to introduce them.  So don’t be surprised to see a few apostrophes floating around in this book—it won’t hurt them!
